Summary Description

Responsible for assisting in all phases of handling engineering service requests, including initial intake, prioritization, and resolution. This role involves troubleshooting systems with respect to both programming and hardware issues, ensuring functionality and performance. Additionally, it requires documenting all changes and updates as necessary to maintain accurate records for automation control systems.

Duties and Responsibilities

Essential Functions:

  • Complies with and ensures compliance with all Tri-M safety policies and procedures.
  • Complies with and ensures compliance with all Tri-M employment policies and procedures including standards of conduct and appearance to reflect positively on the Company.
  • Assists with service request received by phone or email.
  • Assists other engineers or technicians with troubleshooting and resolving complex issues.
  • Assists with updating Computer Aided Drawing (CAD) as-builts as required.
  • Assists in editing programming. customer graphics, schedules, reports and Human- Machine Interface (HMI) related programs.
  • Assists in job documentation, backups and archiving tasks.
  • Progresses in learning all service engineering tasks on projects including design; sequence of operations; controller software; front end hardware maintenance; system troubleshooting and functional testing.

Job Qualifications 

Skills/Educational Requirements:

  • High School degree with recent degree or current enrollment in an engineering program.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook.
  • Some knowledge of drafting software (preferably AutoCAD).
  • Some programming experience.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks while meeting project deadlines.
  • Detail oriented.
  • Excellent interpersonal human relations skills.

Physical Requirements:

  • Working 40 hours/week, scheduled in 8 to 10-hour shifts.
  • Vision adequate for daily and consistent computer use and reading.
  • Sitting 6 to 8 hours/day.
  • Lifting weights of 0 to 30 lbs. from floor to above shoulders.
  • Repetitive use of hands for writing, typing, data entry.
