Summary/Objective
Our company is growing rapidly and is searching for experienced candidates for the position of forklift maintenance technician. If you do not meet all of the listed qualifications, you may still be considered depending on your level of experience.
The forklift maintenance technician position will be responsible for, but not limited to, functions pertaining to repairing forklifts and preventive maintenance. The activities of this assignment are oriented to obtain optimum efficiency and economy of operations by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1. Maintains and repairs forklifts to include batteries, battery chargers and battery watering system.
2. Knowledge of Crown, Toyota, Hyster, Caterpillar, Mitsubishi, and other various powered equipment preferred.
3. Maintain knowledge of systems & buildings.
4. Troubleshoot and repair ac-dc electronics and control circuits.
5. Perform all levels of repairs to mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems, frame and or lift structures.
6. Maintain a fleet of lift trucks, golf carts and other miscellaneous equipment.
7. Dismantles devices to gain access to and remove defective or worn parts.
8. Repairs and maintains the operating condition of Material Handling Equipment (MHE) including forklifts and pallet jacks ranging from 2,000 to 70,000 lb.
9. Determines vehicle condition by conducting preventative maintenance, inspections and diagnostic tests.
10. Handle preventive maintenance and equipment downtime situations and procedures.
11. Identify the root cause of problems and countermeasures to prevent recurrence.
12. Maintain and repair industrial lift trucks, electrical forklifts and pallet jacks and various other types of equipment and vehicles.
13. Keep accurate records of vehicle history within the company computer systems.
14. Communicate accurately & professionally with various departments on needs.
15. Take direction from supervisor.
16. Perform any other tasks assigned to support and improve the overall team operations.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, talk and hear. The employee is required to bend, climb, lift, kneel, sit and/or stand for long periods of time; use hands to handle or feel and/or reach with hands and arms. The employee may lift and/or move items over 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Additional Eligibility Qualifications
1. Must pass background check and drug test
2. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
3. Ability to communicate and interact with all levels within the organization.
4. Must be computer literate and have ability to move through troubleshooting software including service and training manuals and schematics.
5. Must have knowledge of PLC’s, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical fuel systems and/or charging systems and be able to work on all makes and models of material handling equipment.
6. Planning/Organizing - Prioritize and plans work activities.
7. Constant awareness of work surroundings while driving/operating company vehicle, forklift and/or any other equipment/tools in carrying out job duties.
8. Must be certified and able to operate a forklift, must be able to operate the forklift.
9. Must have prior experience repairing/maintaining forklifts.
