The Senior Mechanical Systems Engineer will join a team that excels in niche Industrial HVAC/R projects. This engineer will provide work the full lifecycle of design/build projects including on-site engineering support for the installation of commercial split systems and industrial refrigeration projects. Responsibilities

• Play a key role in bid and proposal development working in conjunction with the Sales team

• Perform system calculations which include but not limited to: System load calculations, Ammonia relief vent systems and valves, ammonia charge, etc.

• Develop P&ID’s, flow diagrams, equipment schedules, plans and specifications for refrigeration systems.

• Review engineering drawings and designs to ensure adherence to established specifications, scope of work and standards specified by each project/client.

• They will assist in producing 2D and 3D CAD/BIM drawings and document sets from sketches, existing drawings, equipment shop drawings and standard details for refrigeration, HVAC, piping and controls systems to be estimated, installed and/or fabricated

• Assist in producing accurate ‘As-Built’ drawings from field mark-ups upon completion of a construction project as well as check and approve of drawings created by other Engineering personnel.

• Perform heat transfer and thermodynamic analysis associated with sizing and selection of refrigeration equipment, pipe sizing and control valves.

• Mentor, develop, and train junior engineers.

To be considered for this role, the Senior Mechanical Systems Engineer must have a BS Degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar, experience in industrial HVAC design and construction, such as plant chillers. 10 years’ experience with industrial refrigeration/HVAC systems with ammonia systems desired or 5 years HVAC design/build and a PE in one or more of the NE states.
