Triad Manufacturing is Hiring a Forklift Operator / Inventory Control Near St. Louis, MO

The candidate will be operating a sit down forklift in the wood mill. The candidate will move material (mainly wood material) as needed throughout the building, load/unload trucks, keep inventory of material received and locations of material moved. The candidate must have previous experience in forklift operations, they will also be certified and tested prior to driving, must have experience moving large, slippery, awkward and heavy materials in tight spaces. Must have the ability to speak clearly on a radio, and receive radio instructions for services needed within the wood mill.

Position Duties and Responsibilities

  • Transports material based on shop needs and its priority.
  • Wraps and protects material for safe transport or storage.
  • Unloads material from trucks.
  • Delivers parts and materials to proper location following company policies and guidelines.
  • Loads shuttle trailers, listing product on proper forms.
  • Condense and relocate materials to ensure space is being used efficiently.
  • Have the ability to take direction.
  • Assists in training of team members.
  • Other Duties
    • Cleans and organizes department's workstations.
    • Completes tasks delegated by Supervisor.
    • Asks questions/seeks advise from Supervisor when in doubt.
    • Follows procedures in company handbook and other documents.
    • Displays a sense of urgency towards completing assigned tasks.
    • Assists in developing solutions to problems.
    • Maintains good attendance.
    • Is dependable and displays a strong work ethic.
    • Works within a team concept and contributes to a positive work environment.
    • Demonstrates a professional attitude in approaching job assignment.
    • Assures the work area and aisles are kept clean and free of debris.
    • Maintains a safe work attitude and environment.
    • Performs other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

    • Must be detail oriented.
    • Ability to read packing slips and other materials lists, match quantities, and identify discrepancies.
    • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations
    • Must have forklift experience or the ability to learn.
    • Possesses good organization skills to maintain maximized warehousing
    • Possesses good judgmental skills to assure for safe handling of product.
    • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
    • Ability to communicate effectively with company personnel.
    • Ability to work independently and be self-motivated.
    • Team environment work ethic.
    • Ability to cooperate with other company personnel.
    • Ability to work flexible schedule and overtime as needed.

Education and/or Experience

High school diploma or equivalent.

    • Pushing/Pulling: Actions required moving material in and out of area.
    • Carrying: Carrying material weighing up to 50 lbs.
    • Lifting/Loading: Carrying, pushing, pulling, raising, and lowering of objects.
    • Position requires the use of near, mid-range and far vision with clarity at 20 feet or more and 20 inches or less. The ability to judge distance and space relationships and see objects where and as they are. The ability to identify and distinguish colors. The ability to observe up and down or to the right or left (field of vision).
