Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Ophthalmic Technician to join our team. As an Ophthalmic Technician, you will play a crucial role in assisting ophthalmologists with patient care and various clinical procedures. Your expertise and attention to detail will contribute to the overall success of our practice.

Responsibilities:

- Conduct preliminary patient screenings, including taking medical history and measuring visual acuity

- Perform diagnostic tests such as tonometry, visual field testing, and retinal imaging

- Assist ophthalmologists and optometrists during examinations

- Administer eye medications as directed by the provider

- Educate patients on proper eye care and post-operative instructions

- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records

- Clean and maintain ophthalmic instruments and equipment

- Ensure compliance with all safety protocols and infection control measures

Qualifications:

- Strong knowledge of ocular anatomy, ophthalmology/optometry systems, and common eye conditions

- Experience in a medical office or healthcare setting preferred

- Proficiency in medical terminology, coding, and billing procedures

- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to provide compassionate patient care

- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills

- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
