We are seeking a Full Time Field Service Technician to join our team seasonally from July through December. Based on business needs, the position may be extended to year round. 

Location: TRIC Robotics office and fields in Santa Maria, CA.

Position description: We are looking for a highly motivated individual with experience and expertise in mobile hydraulic applications to join our team this winter. As the Field Service Technician , you will work with cutting-edge technology and play an important role as we expand to farms across California’s Central Coast. We are looking for someone who is passionate about sustainable innovation, loves solving new and exciting problems, is detail-oriented, and works well in a team. With your experience maintaining and repairing the robot platform you will have the opportunity to directly influence design decisions on future platforms. In this role you will be working daily with the field operations and technical team to ensure technical and treatment objectives are met.

Responsibilities 

• Contribute hydraulic system expertise for current and future robot development
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic and electrical systems
• Conduct and record all routine maintenance and repairs across all robot platforms 
• Provide tier 2 troubleshooting on call or in the field
• Collaborate with field operations team to ensure on time and proper treatments
• Voice technical changes that help innovate on robot platform
• Implement and test robot upgrades in the lab and in the field
• Support field operations team to maintain clean and organized work environment
• Complete and take ownership of other tasks depending on business needs.

Requirements

• Strong mechanical and hydraulics aptitude 
• Welding
• Expertise in maintaining and repairing combustion engines and hydraulic systems
• Experience working with large scale agricultural equipment
• 2 years of experience designing, maintaining or repairing hydraulic systems
• Excellent communication and documentation skills
• Ability to lift 50 pounds and physically perform all related tasks in farm conditions
• Travel between farms throughout greater Santa Barbara and Ventura county

• Solidworks experience
• Experience with PLC
