Role: Technical Business Analyst (Insurance)

Job Summary: As a Technical Business Analyst with an insurance background, you will be responsible for bridging the gap between our business needs and technological solutions. You will work closely with stakeholders to gather requirements, analyze processes, and ensure that our technology implementations align with our business objectives. Your deep understanding of the insurance industry will be crucial in designing and implementing systems that enhance our operational efficiency and service delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

• Requirement Gathering and Analysis: Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather and document detailed business requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
• Process Improvement: Analyze existing business processes within the insurance domain and identify areas for improvement. Propose and implement solutions to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
• Technical Solutions Design: Work with the IT team to design technical solutions that meet business requirements. Ensure that solutions are scalable, robust, and align with industry best practices.
• Stakeholder Communication: Act as a liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams. Ensure clear communication and understanding of project goals, requirements, and progress.
• Documentation: Prepare comprehensive documentation including business requirements documents (BRD), functional specifications, use cases, process flow diagrams, and user stories.
• Testing and Validation: Develop and execute test plans to ensure that the implemented solutions meet business requirements. Facilitate user acceptance testing (UAT) and address any issues that arise.
• Project Management: Support project management activities, including project planning, scheduling, risk management, and status reporting. Ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
• Training and Support: Provide training and support to end-users to ensure smooth adoption of new systems and processes. Develop user manuals and training materials as needed.

Qualifications:

• Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, or a related field. A Master's degree is a plus.
• Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Business Analyst in the insurance industry, with a focus on technical projects.
• Technical Skills: Strong understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC), database management, and system integration. Proficiency in tools such as SQL, Microsoft Office Suite, and project management software (e.g., JIRA, Confluence).
• Insurance Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of insurance processes, policies, and regulations. Experience with insurance software systems (e.g., policy administration systems, claims management systems) is highly desirable.
• Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to analyze complex business problems and propose effective technical solutions.
• Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to communicate technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
• Certification: Relevant certifications such as Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP), Project Management Professional (PMP), or Agile certifications are a plus.
• Soft Skills: Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
