Job DescriptionJoin TriLab Health, a leading healthcare laboratory in Elmhurst, IL, as a full-time Lab Biller/Coder/Collections Specialist. This vital position oversees our billing processes to ensure accurate medical coding and maximizes reimbursement from insurance companies and patients alike. With a requirement of 5 years in billing/coding and a strong preference for experience in laboratory services, the successful candidate will bring expertise in healthcare finance, a dedication to regulatory compliance, and a patient-focused approach to financial matters.
Responsibilities

• Medical Coding:
• Accurately assign diagnostic and procedural codes to ensure correct billing.
• Stay current with coding updates and healthcare regulation changes.
• Billing Process:
• Timely generate and submit claims to insurance providers.
• Ensure accuracy in patient and insurance information.
• Identify and correct billing errors or discrepancies.
• Collections:
• Diligently monitor outstanding claims and pursue collections with insurance carriers.
• Conduct proactive collection efforts for unpaid balances.
• Resolve claim denials or discrepancies in collaboration with insurance representatives.
• Patient Billing:
• Issue patient invoices for services rendered.
• Offer support with billing inquiries, establishing payment plans as needed.
• Documentation and Reporting:
• Keep organized records of billing and coding activities.
• Prepare reports on billing and collection performance.
• Compliance:
• Adhere to healthcare regulations and billing standards.
• Maintain awareness of changes in healthcare policies affecting billing practices.
• Customer Service:
• Respond to inquiries from patients and insurance companies regarding billing issues.
• Deliver exceptional service in a professional and courteous manner.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in medical billing and coding.
• Strong knowledge of medical coding systems (e.g., CPT, ICD-10, HCPCS).
• Experience with laboratory services billing is highly preferred.
• Proficiency in billing software and electronic health record (EHR) systems.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Effective communication skills for liaising with patients, insurers, and team members.
