Job Title: Assistant Manager, Medical Laboratory Technologist
Location: Elmhurst, IL 60126
Employment Type: Full-time position
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, with potential weekends and night shifts as needed.
Salary: $60,000 - $65,000 per year

Job Description:We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Assistant Manager, Medical Technologist to join our dynamic healthcare team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience in a medical setting, demonstrating proficiency in a variety of technical and administrative tasks to support medical professionals and ensure the efficient operation of our facility. This full-time position operates primarily Monday to Friday with potential weekend and night shifts as needed.
Responsibilities:
  • Instrumentation Setup and Operation: Set up, operate, and maintain medical instruments and equipment, including those from Diasorin and Beckman, ensuring accuracy and reliability in test results. Perform routine maintenance and calibration as required.
  • Quality Assurance: Implement and oversee quality assurance measures for instrumentation and medical equipment, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. Monitor instrument performance and troubleshoot issues promptly.
  • Medical Testing and Analysis: Conduct various medical tests such as blood, urinalysis, and other diagnostic procedures, ensuring precision and adherence to protocols.
  • Supervision: Supervise and guide other medical technicians, ensuring high standards of work and compliance with laboratory procedures. Provide training and support as necessary.
  • Data Entry and Record-Keeping: Maintain detailed and accurate records of patient information, test results, and other relevant data in electronic health records (EHR) systems.
  • Patient Care Support: Assist healthcare professionals during medical result interpretation, critical calls, provider education, and more.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with other members of the healthcare team, including physicians, nurses, and administrative staff, to ensure seamless coordination of patient care.
Requirements:
  • Education: Associate degree in medical technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or related field. Bachelor's degree or on-site job training preferred.
  • Certification: Certification as a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) preferred but not required.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience working as a Medical Technician in a clinical or hospital setting, with experience operating instrumentation from Diasorin and Beckman preferred.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in performing medical tests and operating laboratory equipment, particularly instrumentation from Diasorin and Beckman.
  • Supervisory Skills: Proven ability to supervise and manage other technicians, ensuring high-quality work and compliance with procedures.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and accuracy in performing tasks, recording data, and following procedures.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with patients and healthcare professionals.
  • Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Adaptability: Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and patient needs.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Knowledge of relevant regulations and standards governing medical testing and laboratory practices.
