What You Will Do
We are looking for a Product Manager to join the Civil Construction Field Solutions (CCFS) Cloud Software team. As a Product Manager, you'll be responsible for integrating new ideas, technology, and customer requirements into our offerings while increasing the profitability of existing products. You will represent a portfolio of software solutions for civil contractors to manage data to and from the field; you will create, communicate, and measure the value to Trimble and our customers.
In this role, you will spend time in the market understanding our customer's problems, and find innovative solutions for the broader market. You will collaborate with global marketing and engineering teams to deliver efficient and innovative functionality and engage a worldwide customer and distribution partner base for feedback, education, and product direction.
You will work with marketing communications to define the go-to-market strategy, helping them understand the product positioning, key benefits, and target customers. You will also serve as the internal and external evangelist for your product offering, working with the sales channel and key customers.
Role Objectives
  • Ultimate ownership and accountability for the success of assigned product areas.
  • Maintains an excellent working knowledge of the applications within the product line, including hands-on experience. Be able to demonstrate and explain the full feature range of the product.
  • Gains and maintains an in-depth market, industry, and competitive knowledge. Understand our strengths and weaknesses and those of the key competition and use this knowledge to support the Sales team and increase our effectiveness in selling.
  • Be able to generate ideas and value on your own or in a group. Establish, then utilize tight working relationships with engineering, architects, and design.
  • Take your recommendations to stakeholders. Leverage your stakeholders and customers to validate your proposals, not for requirements gathering.
  • Think strategically and own the product vision and the ability to communicate the product vision in writing (product narrative) and verbally, whether that's a hallway conversation, meeting, or presentation.
  • Be concerned with the details. The candidate must be able to change context regularly between conceptual enterprise strategy and in-depth implementation details.
  • Drive decisions with data. When possible, be able to extract quantifiable insights from the product discovery process to inform subsequent goals and priorities.
  • Lead identification and mitigation of risks and impediments. Effectively steward the execution of product vision with a particular focus on constraint points.
  • Identify, scope, and prioritize development work in collaboration with a cross-functional group of contributors to organize time & resources in a way that maximizes value for users and the business.
  • Plan and manage communication around launches, updates, and other changes through the product's lifecycle with contributors and stakeholders.
  • Responsible for leading and developing a team of product managers.
Product Responsibilities
You will have a set of product responsibilities for either: 1) A suite of interfaces (APIs) that enable the use of shared capabilities and data across Trimble products and between Trimble customers and dealers; OR 2) Trimble's WorksOS and Stratus products as well as 3D visualization, manipulation, scanning and survey based workflows.
What Skills & Experience You Should Bring
  • Several years of experience as a product manager or equivalent experience leading product discovery and product delivery.
  • Knowledge and experience in the Civil construction industry.
  • Experience in an Agile development environment including the ability to break market and business problems down into value propositions (themes, epics, features, user stories, tasks).
  • Strong end-user focus with the ability to analyze complex workflows, identify relevant market opportunities and translate them into an actionable plan.
  • Experience with APIs, event-based workflows, or other web technologies, and in particular experience with cloud platform systems is a plus.
  • Demonstrated success in bringing a product to market.
  • Willingness to be a change agent and challenge the status quo to deliver workflow innovation and improved end-user experience.
  • Leadership experience is a plus-the ability and willingness to lead others or a team.
  • Demonstrates excellent written and verbal communication skills. Listens effectively, transmits information accurately and understandably, and actively seeks feedback. Effectively presents and explains information to various group sizes and levels of knowledge.
  • Humility-willingness to ask questions when you don't know and to accept failure as a learning opportunity.
  • Integrity-the courage to speak up when something doesn't seem right for the business, our customers, or individuals.
