Adjunct Faculty – Environmental Science

Trinity Washington University, a comprehensive institution in the nation’s capital, seeks an adjunct faculty member to teach Discovering Planet Earth a face-to-face course for Fall 2024. 

This is a 4-credit course with the following meeting times:

Mon/Wed 12-1:15 pm lecture, 

Monday 1:30-4:30 pm lab 

Compensation - $965/credit

Fall classes begin on Monday, August 26 and end Friday, December 6. Final Exam week is from Monday, December 9 through Friday, December 13. 

Successful candidates should have earned at least a Master’s degree from an accredited institution in environmental science, ecology, biology, geology, or a related discipline and be able to demonstrate strong teaching skills.

Official transcripts for all degrees earned, sample course syllabi, course evaluations and/or other evidence of teaching effectiveness, and contact information for three professional references will be needed if the candidate is invited to campus for an interview. Knowledge of best teaching practices is required. Finalists will be invited to campus for an interview and teaching demonstration. Preference will be given to candidates who demonstrate excellence with engaged and active learning practices, with strong backgrounds in higher education pedagogy and classroom instruction.
