DescriptionJob Summary:This position is responsible for performing routine and extensive painting repairs and remodels throughout the facility inside and outside.
Maintains attitudes and behaviors that demonstrate and uphold the Mission Statement of Trinity Woods (TW), supports the TW core values, and shows an understanding of TW’ person-centered philosophy.
Job Requirements
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required
- Knowledge of types of paints, varnishes, and stains
- Ability to cut/repair sheetrock
- Strong planning and organizational skills
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills
- Excellent customer service skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks
- Minimum computer knowledge required
- Ability to lift up to 75 lbs.
- Cover off surfaces with cloth or plastic to ensure protection
- Scrape, sand, prime, or seal surfaces prior to painting
- Clean walls to ensure proper adherence
- Calculate amounts of required materials for project
- Mix, match, and apply paint, varnish, shellac, enamel, and other finishes
- Apply paint to surfaces including walls, floors, doors, and cabinets applying touchups or second coats as required and/or according to directions
- Fill cracks, holes, and joints with caulk, putty, plaster, or other fillers, using caulking guns or putty knives
- Erect scaffolding, movable staging, and various rigging to gain access to difficult area; move furniture and equipment as necessary
- Remove fixtures such as pictures, doorknobs, lamps, and electric switch covers prior to painting then reinstalling them after painting
- Remove paint splatters when finished as well as clean up all equipment, including brushes and spray guns
- Work with ladders to reach high ceilings or walls
- Additional duties as assigned
