Senior Finance Manager

This role involves leading the finance and accounting functions, working closely with executive leadership to manage the company’s financial operations, including forecasting, financial analysis, and the budgeting process. The position requires collaboration on business development initiatives and representation of the organization as a financial leader.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • · Oversee the annual budgeting process, including forecasting, analysis, and reconciliation.
  • · Communicate corporate templates and information requests to operations leaders and facilitate budget proposals.
  • · Apply financial models to evaluate forecasts and obtain justifications for significant changes from previous periods.
  • · Partner with operational leaders to analyze planning based on historical data, occupancy levels, and financial models.
  • · Conduct cost/benefit analyses for proposed spending.
  • · Lead financial aspects of business development initiatives, including the development of business proformas.
  • · Collaborate with executive leadership to resolve budget issues and prioritize capital expense requests.
  • · Follow corporate purchasing guidelines and track approved capital spending.
  • · Prepare and deliver executive presentations on financial metrics to stakeholders.
  • · Communicate finalized budget numbers to department heads and provide education on their implications.
  • · Monitor budget expenses throughout the year, distribute reports, and discuss financial performance with operations leaders.
  • · Prepare routine and special financial reports and analyses for review by operations leaders, identifying trends and projections.
  • · Submit monthly and quarterly reports to the corporate office.
  • · Conduct cost/benefit analyses for current and proposed resources, including buy versus lease decisions.
  • · Audit cash handling and purchasing processes to ensure compliance and vendor credibility.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • · Bachelor’s degree in accounting, management, business, or related field; or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • · Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, preferably in a non-profit environment.
  • · Prior leadership experience is preferred.
  • · Additional 2 years of experience in accounting, including knowledge of Medicare and Medicaid processing and regulations, is preferred.
  • · Familiarity with the financial implications and state insurance rules related to specific community types is a plus.
