Job Summary and Qualifications

The Manager assists the Director of Inpatient Services with department activities to assure a coordinated effort in fulfilling department responsibilities and efficiencies. Works cohesively to develop standards and procedures for providing and improving quality patient care. Involved in recommendations and changes to policies using evidence-based research, when applicable. Promotes strong working relations with other departments in the facility.

The Registered Nurse performs direct patient care within the scope of the Registered Nurse Practice Act. Utilizes therapeutic communication in daily practice. Participates in performance improvement activities to assure continuous quality improvement. Follows patient safety standards.

The manager must promote good public relations for the department and TriStar Greenview Regional Hospital while maintaining patient/customer confidentiality and satisfaction. The manager supports the hospital’s mission, values, and vision.

What qualifications you will need:

• Current Registered Nurse licensure by Kentucky Board of Nursing or approved compact state. BSN preferred. Specialty certification preferred.
• • Specialty certification within area of expertise within 3 years of role acceptance preferred
• BLS certification required.
• • New employees have up to 90 days from date of hire to obtain BLS for healthcare providers.
• ACLS and PALS required.
• • New employees have up to 6 months from the date of hire to obtain ACLS certification. Employees transferring from a position that did not require ACLS have up to 6 months from date of transfer to obtain ACLS.
  • New employees have up to 6 months from the date of hire to obtain PALS certification. Employees transferring from a position that did not require PALS have up to 6 months from date of transfer to obtain.

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing.
• Five years telemetry or equivalent nursing care experience preferred.
• Three to five years of charge RN experience preferred.
