Job DescriptionTITLE: Manager, Technical Services/Maintenance & Repair, US West Coast/Western Canada REPORTS TO: Director, Technical Operations LOCATION: Walnut Creek, CA I. FUNCTIONAL SUMMARY:The main focus of this position is to support the maintenance and repair of Triton assets and manage the vendors that perform those repairs, insuring container inspections and repairs are done to Triton’s high standard expectations. The territory includes Western US and, and Western Canada. III. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Visit depots for review and inspection of Triton’s equipment (including dry vans, specials, chassis, gensets, and refrigerated containers), conducting regular checks and audits on vendor services
Implementation of maintenance and repair policies and requirements; establish/distribute/clarify maintenance and repair standards
Handle equipment disposition and the sell/fix decisions in conjunction with Marketing and Triton Container Sales (TCS)
Oversee depot contract preparation and approval, in conjunction with Global Operations and Regional Management
Manage operational costs incurred with 3rd party vendors; including negotiating rates for services
Create/analyze and act upon storage, handling and repairs data
Review/resolve damage protection plan (dpp) and wear and tear (W&T) issues
Communicate repair approval and provide direction on unrepaired damages to our depot partners
Communicate changes to customer terms, dpp, auto approval limits, etc. to our depot partners
Coordinate depot addition and removal in conjunction with Global Operations and Regional Management
Gather, evaluate and distribute competitive intelligence
Approve estimates and repairs
Evaluate and report on depot performance and financial strength
Train depot vendors on Triton’s Inspection and Repair criteria and standards
Manage and solve repair disputes with customers in a timely basis
Arrange depot surveys
Support and assist TCS with equipment sales
Respond to customer inquires, technical issues
Monitor repair quality and approval limits, and survey limits for all equipment grades
Arrange and execute depot technical and inventory audits as prescribed by Triton International and proactively post results into Triton’s MIS repository
IV. JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Five to seven years of maintenance and repair experience with a steamship, container leasing, or other maritime related company
Must maintain International Container Lessors (IICL) certification (can be done after starting in the position)
Basic understanding of logistics concepts and practices
Familiarization with reefer container maintenance operation
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Extensive experience with contract negotiations
Self-motivated, high energy level and positive attitude
Willing to travel frequently, sometimes at short notice; 25-35% travel required per month
Integrity and high ethical value
Must be at a commutable distance (within 50 miles) to the Walnut Creek, CA office.
We follow a hybrid working schedule of 3 days in the office (Monday - Wednesday).

V. BENEFITS:The expected base salary range for this role is from $68,000 - $100,000. It is not typical for offers to be made at or near the top of the range. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including location, relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, licensure or certifications obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. In addition to salary and a generous employee benefits package, successful candidates are eligible to receive a discretionary bonus.
