Certified Nursing Assistant - GA
REPORTING RELATIONSHIP:
Supervised by: Registered Nurse

JOB SUMMARY:
Seeking a CNA to assist in providing hospice care and support to terminally ill patients and their care team. An ideal candidate should possess the ability to assist with and respond to the needs of terminally ill patients, under the direction of the RN. Ability to communicate well with others. In addition to excellent written/verbal communication, problem solving and decision-making abilities, successful candidates will also have demonstrated experience developing and maintaining a rapport with patients and families, and the ability to work well and communicate with an interdisciplinary team. This person will provide personal assistance and compassionate care to the patient, patient’s families and loved ones during time of service and bereavement.
Tropical Health is looking for a seasoned clinician with the ability to work a flexible schedule. This role is ideal for CNAs looking for supplemental income as routine patient care visits are usually scheduled between the hours of 6a-12p. Case load is determined by patient census; compensation rate is per visit. Seeking patient coverage for territory within and surrounding the following counties: Dekalb, Rockdale, Newton, Gwinnett, Walton. Subject to change based on patient needs and caseload.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Degree: Must have high school diploma or GED certificate.
CERTIFICATION and EXPERIENCE
Training/Licensure: Active certified CNA
Knowledge/Skills/Ability: The ideal candidate possesses the ability to work independently, make accurate, and at times, quick judgments. Ability to respond appropriately to crisis outside of a hospital setting. Acceptance of. and adaptability to different social, racial, cultural and religious backgrounds. Ability to measure, monitor and record vital signs, obtain and document patient information. Assists with the maintenance of proper hygiene of all patients, including bathing and assisting with toileting, keeping wounds and dressings clean. May assist with maintenance of patient living area; may assist with shopping needs for personal items. Bed transfers, repositioning, as well as ambulation activities as directed. Assists with the administration of medications as directed by physician. Provides effective communication for staff, patients, families & caregivers.
Offers companionship alongside medical and physical assistance. Ability to utilize electronic medical record systems to chart and document ongoing care according to patient care plan and medical directives. A successful candidate will be able to advocate on patients’ behalf and assist in educating the family, friends, loved ones, staff and care members of best practices of basic health care routines.
Minimum 2 years of clinical experience preferred.
Active patient contact within past three years, preferred.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Exposure to disagreeable conditions including odors, infection, illness, and physical contact from disruptive patients.
TRANSPORTATION:
Must have a current valid driver’s license, auto liability insurance and reliable transportation.
