Job Summary : The laser operator's primary responsibility is to laser-cut quality flat and rotary die boards and to perform regular maintenance on the laser cutting machines.

Duties and Responsibilities :

• Prepare flat and rotary die boards by reviewing work orders, specifications and blueprints
• Verify CAD files match customer order requirements
• Test burn tolerances and make required adjustments to machine settings
• Identify non conforming material during inspection activities
• Maintain safe and clean work environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations
• Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed

Skills and Abilities :

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Ability to read, write and speak English
• Ability to read and understand blueprints
• Ability to read tape measure to 1 / 32"
• Practical understanding of manufacturing equipment and workflow
• Basic computer knowledge

Physical Requirements :

• Ability to stand for duration of shift
• Frequent walking back and forth between departments
• Frequent lifting / carrying of die boards (50 pounds)
• Must be able to hear to listen to instructions
• Must be able to distinguish between colors
