**STEM Education Outreach Coordinator AmeriCorps Member Opportunity** OverviewThe Desert Research Institute's Office of Education is seeking a STEM Education Outreach Coordinator AmeriCorps Member for its Energy Smart outreach program in Reno, Nevada. The member will contribute to expanding the nonprofit program for rural and Title One schools in Nevada, with potential growth for the Family STEM night program. Primary Responsibilities
Coordinate outreach activities and logistics
Teach STEM content to elementary school students
Develop educational materials and presentations
Expand program reach and enrollment
Attend community and school events
Act as a public speaker when applicable
Secondary Responsibilities
Plan hands-on STEM activities
Contribute to family STEM nights and workforce education
Assist in updating curriculum offerings
Build relationships within the education community
Perform administrative duties
Required Skills And Qualifications
Passion for teaching and working with children
Experience or interest in STEM topics
Strong communication skills
Detail-oriented with strong time management abilities
Ability to handle multiple tasks
Previous experience in outreach and community engagement
MissionThe Science Alive program by the Desert Research Institute serves schools across Nevada by offering STEM education resources to educators and students, particularly those in Title One schools.
