The Operations Packaging Assistant Lead is responsible for assisting in overseeing and coordinating packaging operations within our organization, ensuring the efficient and timely delivery of high-quality products. This role involves supporting the Packaging Team Lead in leading a team of packaging associates, managing day-to-day activities, and fostering a collaborative and results-driven work environment.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Operations:

• Assist in supervising packaging staff, assigning duties, and ensuring smooth operations.
• Support scheduling and authorization of overtime as needed to meet production schedules.
• Training of packaging personnel.
• Assist with safety orientations, educating personnel on equipment usage, and ensuring compliance with safety protocols.
• Collaborate with the Packaging Team Lead to monitor workflow, enforce production standards, and implement process improvements.
• Support coordination with Quality Assurance to develop manufacturing methods and ensure compliance with regulations.
• Assist in overseeing receiving, inventory control, production, quality checks, and shipping processes.
• Support maintenance of machinery, equipment, and facilities for efficient production.
• Report process or equipment problems to the Packaging Team Lead
• Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results.

Resource Management:

• Assist in effectively allocating resources, including personnel, materials, and equipment, to optimize production efficiency and meet demand.
• Collaborate with other departments, such as production planning and logistics, to ensure seamless coordination and communication.

Documentation:

• Assist in completing, initiating, updating, and verifying documents to meet quality standards.
• Initiate paperwork for start and close of production inventory.
• Document production malfunctions, shutdowns, or rejected products.
• Assist in compiling manufacturing data for analysis.

Leadership:

• Assist in resolving personnel problems, coordinating with staffing agencies, and training employees.
• Demonstrate technical acumen, operational understanding, and compliance with regulations.
• Support operational excellence initiatives and implementation of new technologies.
• Ensure a strong culture of safety and compliance.
• Maintain professional and technical knowledge through training and workshops.
• Support the Packaging Team Lead in leading and inspiring a team of packaging associates, providing guidance, coaching, and support to optimize performance and achieve production targets.
• Assist in fostering a positive and inclusive team culture that emphasizes collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
• Support regular training sessions for packaging team members to enhance skills, promote safety awareness, and foster a culture of continuous learning.
• Identify opportunities for skill development and career growth within the team.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma required.
• Preferably 1 year experience in manufacturing, preferably in a leadership role.
• Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage and direct a team.
• Proficient in computer applications and quality assurance principles.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes and equipment.
• Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and able to work independently.

Working Conditions:

• Works in a shared office space.
• Required to travel between True Diagnostics buildings locally.
• Required to wear PPE when entering laboratory and manufacturing room locations.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand, sit, walk, and perform manual tasks.
• Effective communication using speech, vision, and hearing.
• Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull medium weights, up to 30 pounds.
• Exposure to moving machinery and marked hazards.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
