You’ll Focus On
  • Partners with the Director of Sales to develop and implement strategic sales plans to accommodate company goals
  • Manages, coaches and sets goals/expectations for sales professionals in a specific region or customer segment
  • May also manage the CP, CCE, and Small Ag division across TNE as the need is identified
  • Gains a deep understanding of the regional markets, opportunities and customer segments
  • Reviews market analyses to determine customer needs and pricing strategies
  • Engages with Sales Professionals to ensure the team is forward thinking, focused on the customer and leads a positive team environment
  • Directs staffing, training, and performance evaluations to develop a sales program
  • Analyzes sales statistics to assist in promoting sales
  • Represents the company at trade association meetings to promote True North Equipment
  • Delivers sales presentations and holds sales meetings on a regular basis
  • Holds quarterly sales meetings, holds quarterly individual performance meetings with their teams
  • Advises the marketing team on advertising needs
  • Effectively engages in and use of sales department processes/systems (Handle, Workflow, JDQuote) across assigned locations to ensure consistent internal and external customer satisfaction
  • Enables a “Team” approach with all levels of management, departments and staff focused around the True North Customer Experience
  • Navigates a sense of “Ownership and Decision Rights capability” to effectively manage the sales team
  • Meets with customers, assisting sales professionals to maintain relationships and assist in closing deals
  • Prepares periodic sales reports as directed by the Director of Sales
  • Proactively engages in the development of the whole goods marketing strategies with the Director of Sales
  • Achieves asset turn goals
  • Coordinates with Director of Sales on new and used inventory planning
  • Assists Director of Sales with recruiting, staffing and employee development efforts for their regional sales team
  • Provides oversight to ensure a positive customer experience through the coordinated efforts of the IS, Sales, Aftermarket and Training Departments to exceed customer expectations

Supervisory Responsibility
  • This position trains and manages all assigned employees and is responsible for the performance management within the department.
Requirements
  • 5 years sales experience, 2 years management experience leading a staff
  • Familiar with John Deere and competitive products
  • Ability to use Deere sales computer applications and tools
  • Ability to use software applications such as Microsoft Office and internet functions
  • Associates Degree or BBA in Business, Marketing or equivalent sales experience
  • This position requires daily travel as needed, must have a clean MVR and be able to drive company vehicles
