The Regional EHS Specialist will support a designated group of RDC’s and management in their efforts to manage all Safety related items, such as protocols, practices, SOP’s, Food, and regulatory programs (i.e., OSHA, DOT, etc.). The Specialist will assist in projects, training, tracking data, auditing, evaluating injury trends, reporting, developing solutions, and providing guidance to the RDC. This position may include occasional travel as needed.
The Regional EHS Specialist will apply experience and/or knowledge regarding safety, environmental and regulatory compliance (i.e., OSHA) and other regulations, best practices, to mitigate or reduce potential risks.
Responsibilities: (May perform other duties and responsibilities, as assigned).
1. Support the application of safety procedures and safety culture and makes recommendations for the leaders and facility.
2. Drive and assist True Value efforts at the RDC’s by improving the safety culture into one that integrates Safety compliance and excellence with daily operations; reduces frequency and severity of injuries, reduces costs, improves quality and compliance of food product holding, and assists management in developing a safer and more effective workforce.
3. Supports Management in your region to implement Regulatory/compliance programs to include: Assessment of safety best practices, training, compliance, and injury reduction programs. Track, report, benchmark and identify safety trend data to assist local management in reducing incidents and losses. Provide appropriate feedback to all levels.
4. Support, interact and collaborate with management and SWIT teams to ensure team has the support needed to drive continuous improvement.
5. Proactively, identify, provide solutions/recommendations and immediate problem solve, to provide safety recommendations for Management
6. Support management in their investigation, reporting, and root cause analysis of work-related injuries. Assist with development, implementation, and communication of preventive measures. Review, update, support and implement various actions for related policies and programs for all associates.

8. Develop a communication cadence with GOMs and safety point persons within your region for frequent updates.
Education & Experience:
• • Bachelor’s Degree, or equivalent work experience.
• • 3-5 years’ experience
• • Demonstrated experience with Powered Industrial Vehicles (Material Handling Equipment)
• • Intermediate knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
