Our client is an organization in Walworth County looking for a Human Resources Director . This company is looking for someone with both strategic and hands-on HR experience in manufacturing who is excited to lead the HR function. This company offers a stable and growing environment with a down-to-earth and collaborative culture. The company has great longevity, and this person will be pivotal in opening a new facility in 2026. This position is on-site.
The Human Resources Director will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following :
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversee and develop human resources policy, both corporate and location-specific
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, payroll and employee benefits
- Manage the salaried and hourly employee recruiting and selection process, including the selection and maintenance of temporary staffing firm relationships and external recruitment resources
- Lead the employee benefits process, including the benefits strategy development and implementation and serve as plan administrator for employee benefit plans
- Oversee the workers compensation program, including the prevention and management of employment claims
- Lead workforce planning and labor cost control processes
- Manage compensation strategy development and implementation
- Manage the performance review process and provide recommendations for the merit increase and bonus allocation
- Craft and deliver corporate communication to workforce and outside groups
- Provide guidance, support, and leadership to management on HR related issues, including employee relation issues
- Review and revise the company policy application and decisions on policy exceptions
- Hold employees and leaders accountable for job performance
- Coach and mentor department managers & supervisors
- Develop and maintain employee training and development activities
- Leverage and implement technology to improve HR function efficiency and effectiveness
- Collect and analyze HR data, including setting and achieving targets on key HR metrics
- Lead outreach to community groups, schools and local charitable organizations
- Direct Wisconsin, California and Missouri plant HR activities
- Ensure that internal governance / control procedures are followed in accordance with the internal governance policy. Continuously monitor internal control structure and immediately report any errors / discrepancies to the President. For errors / discrepancies, implement corrective actions as necessary
- Work in concert with the administration and leadership team on initiatives
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
