Goshen High SchoolClub Sponsor - GSA ClubThe GSA Club Leader is responsible for organizing, managing, and supporting the activities of the GSA club. This role involves fostering an inclusive and supportive environment for LGBTQ students and allies, planning and leading club meetings and events, and advocating for LGBTQ awareness and equality within the school community.
Key Responsibilities
- Establish and maintain the GSA club, ensuring it operates following school policies and guidelines.
- Develop and implement a club meetings, events, and activities calendar.
- Coordinate with school administration and other faculty members to support the club's activities and initiatives.
- Create a safe and welcoming environment for LGBTQ students and allies.
- Provide support and resources to students regarding LGBTQ issues and concerns.
- Organize and lead regular club meetings, ensuring they are engaging and productive.
- Facilitate building a supportive and inclusive community within the GSA club.
- Encourage student leadership and participation in club activities and decision-making.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for the GSA club.
- Maintain accurate records of club activities, membership, and finances.
- Manage the club's budget, including fundraising activities and expense tracking.
- Bachelor's degree in education, Counseling, Social Work, or a related field.
- Teaching certification.
- Experience working with LGBTQ youth.
- Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
- Ability to create an inclusive and supportive environment for all students.
- Previous experience leading a GSA club or similar student organization.
- Knowledge of LGBTQ issues, resources, and support networks.
- Training or certification in diversity and inclusion.
