Summary Of PositionA member of the Maintenance Team, the Painter reports to the Supervisor of Maintenance and is responsible for assisting in the operation of the Paint Department.
Job FunctionsESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS - Essential functions under the Americans with Disabilities Act may include any of the following duties, knowledge and skills. Regular on time and in person attendance is an essential function of this job. Other essential functions may include, but are not limited to the following:
- Responsible for the knowledge and ability to paint and finish various surfaces with a brush, roller or sprayer
- Responsible for matching stains and paint
- Responsible for organizing and layout of work for self
- Assist in other departments as required
- Responsible for working flexible work hours, as required
- Responsible for being available for emergency calls 24 hours/day, 7 days/week
- Interact with co-workers, administration, students, parents and the community in positive, supportive and cooperative ways
- Light wall repair and patching required
- Other duties as assigned
- Ability to layout and apply parking lot striping and traffic control signage
- Knowledge, skill, and ability to remove graffiti from various surfaces and materials
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Knowledge and a minimum of five (5) years professional experience in the painting field is required
- Ability to layout and plan work with minimal supervision
- Must have valid drivers license, good driving record and reliable transportation
- Ability to layout and apply parking lot striping and traffic control sinage.
- Knowledge, skill, and ability to remove graffiti from various surfaces and materials
- Must pass a pre-employment physical
- Demonstrated good in person attendance and punctuality
- Deomonstrated ability to participate as a member of team
- Demonstrated ability to work in a diverse environment

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and ability to adjust/focus.
Work EnvironmentThe noise level in the work environment is usually loud to moderate. Work is performed indoors although there will be required outdoor activities.
Mental FunctionsWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to compare, analyze, communicate both orally and in writing, copy, coordinate, instruct, compute, synthesize, evaluate, use interpersonal skills, compile and negotiate.
