Waypoint Academy is seeking an exceptional educator to fill the position of Program Director. The incoming Program Director must have a clear vision to lead our extraordinary faculty in creating and maintaining a rich, engaging, and meaningful learning environment that allows all students to grow, both academically and socially. Waypoint Academy is an alternative school program operated by the Cape Cod Collaborative on behalf of the public school districts throughout the region. The program has maintained approval through the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education as a Public Day School Program. Waypoint Academy was founded in 2000 and has consistently served a population of approximately 70 middle and high school students. Waypoint Academy boasts a seasoned and experienced staff, many of whom started working in the program soon after it was established. The fundamental design of the therapeutic milieu is based upon the principles of the Trauma and Learning Policy Initiative, 2005, as developed (and published) by the Massachusetts Advocates for Children. The principles of "Trauma Sensitive Schools" are integral to the programmatic practices of all staff, in addition to linking all work to strong, evidence-based methods.
