Job Summary La Salle Catholic College Preparatory is seeking a full-time Religious Studies teacher for the 2024-2025 school year with an emphasis in World Religions, Catholic Social Teaching & Morality. • Support La Salle's mission as a Lasallian, Catholic school and engage in the life of the school community
• Facilitate learning focused on the Catholic faith and Lasallian tradition, utilizing the course of study prescribed by the US Conference of Bishops Framework and Religious Studies curriculum maps
• Foster prayer and spirituality into daily agenda with opportunities for student voice and perspective
• Collaborate with department and Director of Lasallian Ministry on spiritual opportunities at the school, including chapel days, faith formation, and retreats.
• Possess a passion for working with young people and a desire to engage them in critical thinking, inquiry and analysis
• Demonstrate cultural competence and strategies to promote equity, inclusion, and belonging in the classroom
• Deliver homeroom and flex time programming as scheduled
• Incorporate a range of technological tools to support student skill development as 21st century learners in a 1:1 environment
• Facilitate student learning by providing varied and consistent feedback on both summative and formative assessment
• Maintain accurate and timely grades, records and/or student portfolios
• Provide differentiated instruction to students needing accommodations or additional academic support
• Build and maintain positive relationships with students, staff and parents. Communicate effectively and consistently with parents and colleagues
• Contribute to the work of professional learning teams, the Religious Studies department, and the school-wide professional learning community
