Job Overview St. Thomas Aquinas High School in Dover, NH is seeking a qualified SPANISH TEACHER for grades 9-12 for the 2024-2025 school year. The ideal candidate will:
  • possess a strong subject background, teaching experience, and a solid understanding of high school curriculum in Spanish.
  • demonstrate an understanding of and implement the ACTFL Standards for proficiency based language teaching and learning.
  • bring enthusiasm, energy, and passion to the classroom setting through a variety of teaching and learning practices.
  • connect positively with both students and families.
  • support the Catholic mission of the school and engage fully in the life of the school community.
  • demonstrate excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • explore collaborative and interdisciplinary teaching relationships with colleagues.
  • use educational technology as a means for student gains and instructional design. Education and Experience
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Spanish or related field is required, with a Master's degree preferred.
  • One to three years of high school teaching experience, or applicable practicum/related program, is preferred.
  • Possession of New Hampshire state certification in appropriate subject area and/or the ability to work toward state certification. Job Summary and Expectations Under the supervision of the Principal and Department Chair, the Teacher:
  • assumes responsibility for the leadership and management of the classes they are assigned.
  • strives to achieve the goals of the St. Thomas Aquinas Mission Statement, the Catholic faith, and values.
  • develops and implements a daily instructional program according to the needs of the students and the established curriculum.
  • recognizes and incorporates the rich diversity of the students in the classroom and their unique God-given talents to foster a culture of belonging.
  • maintains accurate records of attendance, scholastic achievement, etc. as required by the school, diocese, and state.
  • establishes positive public relations within and outside the school community.
  • commits to ongoing professional learning and growth.
