Trumbull County is Hiring a TV Inspector/Grouting Assistant Technician Near Warren, OH

**PREFER A VALID CLASS B CDL WITH TANKER ENDORSEMENT**

SUMMARY: Under direct supervision, performs television inspection and internal chemical grouting of county sewer lines and manholes. Also performs smoke and dye testing and responds to complaints. Serves as TV Inspector/Grouting Technician in his absences. Also a back up to the Service Line Maintenance Crew.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other related duties may be assigned.

60% Assist in performing television inspection and internal chemical grouting of sewer lines, manholes, etc.; maintains and completes all needed reports, logs on daily work completed; maintains cleanliness and neatness, mechanical operation of all equipment; reports any mechanical and electronic malfunctions; performs smoke dye tests for infiltration of systems. Assist in supervising subordinate personnel in absence of TV Inspector/Grouting Technician. Responsible for adhering to
Departments safety practices and procedures. Surveying sewer lines.

5% Assists in the location and raising of manholes.

10% Trouble shoots minor problems on vehicles, answers equipment problems for crew, and the public.

Assist in the maintenance of safety equipment and procedures.

15% Responds to the public’s complaints and makes utility spots when required.

10% Assist plant operators at package plants; when necessary supervises and assists flushing crews; and inspects repairs at job sites.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: When necessary Assistant fills in for TV Inspector/Grouting Technician. Directs the flushing crew when necessary.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must be knowledgeable in toxic and explosive nature of sanitary sewage systems.

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information and field reports to supervisor. Must also have the ability to effectively communicate with supervisors and other employees of the organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

CERTIFICATE, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Must possess a State of Ohio Class B Driver’s License with Tanker endorsement.

OTHER KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Knowledge of water treatment practices and procedures, regulatory standards governing treatment process, safety practices and procedures. Knowledge of routine laboratory procedures; skill in laboratory equipment and instruments. Knowledge of basic mechanical and electrical maintenance techniques.
