Title: Class A CDL Driver

Job Summary:

The Class A CDL Driver delivers product and materials to local customer sites using commercial vehicles while ensuring compliance with federal and state motor carrier standards. Drivers will be delivering large trusses and building component packages to customer locations/construction sites and may be responsible to unload goods using forklifts and other equipment. 

Job Duties:

• Plan and pace own work efficiency in order to meet daily, weekly, project, or team related productivity goals.
• Maintain trucks and trailers; coordination of drop off and pick up for repairs.
• Verify all cargo is reviewed, secured and ready for delivery.
• Follow all safety and load compliance for securing cargo.
• Deliver loads to job and shag trailers as needed.
• Maintain all logs and paperwork.
• Report to the Dispatcher.
• Ensure compliance with all DOT regulations.
• Operate a forklift as needed.
• Stock supplies/track inventory as needed.
• Other duties, as assigned.
• The Delivery Driver reports to the Dispatcher. The Deliver Driver does not have any direct reports.

Special Job Dimensions:

• Must have ability to operate independently in a high-volume, faced paced environment.
• Must be able to handle delivering large loads of construction materials to job sites under construction and navigate difficult terrain.
• Lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects up to 75lbs or more.
• Interface with customers, job site staff, contractors and compliance regulators. Promote a positive image of the organization to all external customers.

Qualifications:

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Class A CDL-no other endorsements needed.
• Minimum of 1 year experience flatbed, wide load and roller trailer preferred.
• Must be comfortable delivering product to construction sites and navigate difficult terrain.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Clean driving record and a valid CDL driver’s license required. 
• Must pass a US DOT medical evaluation at required intervals. 
• Must pass a US DOT random drug test at required intervals.
