Your Mission

Lead, drive plant floor production efforts; assist PM in driving change (5S & safety initiatives). Provide advanced training to machine operators as well as die maintenance technicians. Troubleshoot extrusion process to resolve problems and maintain processes capable of meeting customer requirements. Coordinate tool balancing, adjustments, and process improvements with die technician/tuner to develop and maintain expected productivity levels and QC requirements

Primary Responsibilities:

• Work in a safe manner and follow safety policies. Ensure team members are working safely and following established company safety policy
• Lead/drive production efforts, including continuous improvement initiatives
• Develop and train machine operators as well as die maintenance personnel; provide feedback where applicable
• Assess situations and determine if issues are machine-related or process-related; take corrective actions
• Identify and communicate appropriately when electrical/mechanical/technical support is needed
• Identify and implement process improvement concepts
• Diagnose complex extrusion problems to resolve processing issues
• Work with supervisors, operators, technician(s), and maintenance to resolve complex issues
• Assist with production qualification runs including capability assessment
• Participate in and support projects that are driven by business initiatives
• Participate and sustain 5S activities

Qualifications & Competencies:

• Minimum of 5 years experience in profile extrusion
• Proven leadership skills: influence people and implement projects
• Expert machine/extruder operating skills and comprehension of theory
• Strong aptitude in problem solving and process improvement
• Computer skills – Windows, MS Excel
• CAD experience preferred or willingness to acquire necessary training
• Strong knowledge of quality systems
• Equipment maintenance experience
• Ability to articulate problems as well as solutions verbally
• Self-motivated and capable of managing stressful situations
