Assistant Director for the Trustees of St. Patrick’s Cathedral

Position Overview:

The Assistant Director will provide support to the Executive Director to sustain, promote and grow cemetery programs and services and participate in strategic planning and implementation. Be able to track progress goals and improve department performance. Demonstrate leadership and the ability to motivate and mentor staff to attain their full potential.

Direct Supervisor: This role reports to the Executive Director for Trustees of St. Patrick’s Cathedral

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Assists in overseeing the admin/management staff in all cemetery locations, including assisting Parish Cemeteries
  • Assists in hiring and training of admin/management in cemetery locations.
  • Maybe asked to assist in performance evaluations.
  • Direct, research, prepare and present department reports, correspondence, and projects.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Communicate with field management on behalf of the Executive Director.
  • Participates in strategic planning and implementation of programs, procedures and methods as needed.
  • Ability to travel to 5 Cemetery locations for periodic onsite visits located in the Archdiocese of New York.
  • Assists the Executive Director with the preparation of presentations to the Board of Directors.
  • Building and maintaining positive relationships with clients, management, and staff.

Required Education, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Bachelor’s degree; Business degree preferred
  • Relevant cemetery experience preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent technological, organizational skills, and attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritize and delegate tasks
  • Ability to create and present ideas
  • Demonstrated ability to oversee and collaborate with staff
  • Proficient in Microsoft word, Excel, Power point, and other applicable software
  • Ability to learn HMIS cemetery software
  • Ability to multitask

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $180,000.00 - $200,000.00 per year
