Posted Job Title Clinical Research Assistant A Job Profile Title Clinical Research Assistant A Job Description Summary Plan and coordinate clinical research projects. ParticipateDirect the activities of workers engaged in clinical research projects to ensure compliance with protocols and overall clinical objectives. May evaluate and analyze clinical data. Responsible to assist with study coordination and recruitment for investigator-initiated studies, multi-center research studies, and patient-oriented clinical and translational research projects within a specific division. Works directly with study investigatorsphysicians, research coordinators, project managers, and other research staff. Performs assessmentscreening visits, consenting of participants, processing and shipping of labs, entering data into databases, and escorting participants to other testing/procedure areas. Help advance the research mission of the Division and University. Job Description Job Responsibilities Perform standard office duties, such as contacting participants by phone and e-mail; scheduling and coordinating study visits, necessary testing, and meetings; screening and triaging requests; managing correspondence; organizing office and research supplies; submitting purchasing orders; maintaining files and records (both paper and electronic); and scanning, archiving, and de-identifying subject records Responsible for preparing charts and binders for study visits, to include but not limited to making copies, accessing databases, creating documents. Sending out study participant packets that include the questionnaires, documents and study materials needed for that visit Completing documentation and data entry for each study call and visit. Entering research data. Maintaining and updating study databases. Obtaining records and any other material required to complete case report forms and comply with protocols. Sort, review, screen and distribute incoming and outgoing e-mail; prepare, compose and ensure timely responses to a variety of routine written inquiries. Answer calls on a daily basis and handle accordingly. Scheduling appointments for participants for study visits and with other divisions and/or service centers as required by the protocol. Arranging transportation to and from study visits Prepare participant and healthcare provider reports after study visits on a monthly basis. Maintain an electronic copy of these documents Schedule participants for appointments, procedures, or inpatient stays as required by study protocol. Perform specific protocol procedures such as interviewing participants, taking vital signs, and performing electrocardiograms. Assess eligibility of potential subjects through methods such as screening interviews, reviews of medical records, or discussions with physicians and nurses. Prepare study meals for lab-based assessment visits. Prepare study-related documentation, such as protocol worksheets, procedural manuals, adverse event reports, institutional review board documents, or progress reports. Assist principal investigators in conducting searches of relevant study literature and preparing slide decks in PowerPoint. Assist principal investigators in preparing manuscripts for publication. Qualifications High School Grad/GE Degree and 1 to 2 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. BA/BS degree is preferred.
