Great opportunity for an experienced Defense Litigation Paralegal to join a growing law firm in its Downtown Manhattan office on a direct hire basis. This is a hybrid position but is required to work in the office at least four days each week. Duties include, but are not limited to the following:

• Provide paralegal support to attorneys through all phases of litigation;
• Managing all case materials, including all electronic files and database applications;
• Maintaining and monitoring court deadlines for assigned cases and taking ownership of case calendars
• Preparing drafts of pleadings, notices, and motions
• Preparing deposition notices and organizing, maintaining and preparing deposition materials, exhibits and summaries
• Tracking and managing discovery, including document productions
• Coordinating and communicating with expert witnesses;
• Participating in case strategy meetings and handling routine calls and correspondence to courts, outside attorneys, and clients
• Preparing deposition, mediation, and trial notebooks; and
• Assisting with trial preparation and trial.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 3 years of experience handling insurance defense or other types of civil defense litigation cases from beginning to end
• Defense Litigation Experience required
• Strong analytical and research abilities as well as effective communication skills
• Strong writing skills
• Excellent work ethic
• All candidates must be able to work at a computer screen for a sustained amount of time
