TSM Corporation is Hiring a Quality Inspector Near Auburn, MI

SUMMARY

Monitors and maintains quality integrity of the parts at defined work cell areas with high emphasis on work cell compliance with TSM quality requirements and procedures. Works toward organizational objectives for quality, scrap and adherence to TSM quality/process documentation.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

Perform visual and dimensional inspections of in-coming, in-process, finished product & product shipping.

Assure operator compliance to inspection instructions, operator instructions, packaging instructions & proper use of any gauges that they may be required to use, completing the C/A log and following any back purge procedures.

Monitor/participate in Back Purge events to assure compliance.

Perform required quality, first/last piece checks and input accurate data into SPC 2000 as directed by the inspection instructions.

Follow control of non-conforming material procedure which includes writing non-conforming material reports, tagging the containers and logging them. During this process there will be requirements to transfer stock into the NCM thru the system by manual or scanning. Follow the scanning work instruction.

Maintain a clean and organized hold area where containers are tagged and stored appropriately. Hold area should be free of debris and any unused empty containers or dunnage.

Monitor the compliance of proper TSM CORRECTIVE ACTION PROCEDURE.

Ensure that the operators are performing all process tasks properly to help ensure the quality of our product. Continuously help to reinforce the quality requirements with a positive teaching approach. Help to instill your knowledge of the product into the operators.

Inspect all containers to assure that the tag and/or label is in accordance with TSM procedures. The QI will complete an inspection of the packaging, barcode labels, quantity & quality of parts. Containers deemed acceptable QI will stamp off on each barcode label ensuring not to interfere with the scanned area. If found to be unacceptable follow the non-conforming material procedure.

Material must be properly identified at all times of the stage in the process. If you find that containers

Control of non-conforming material procedure and reject the parts.

Perform final shipping audit on all containers. The QI will complete the final audit shipping form so that parts can be released to load onto the truck for shipment.

Monitor the GP12 process to assure that the operators are performing the require checks per the procedures. Help to train operators on GP12 requirements. Once the operators are trained they must sign the training sheet inside of the job book and you must also sign the training sheet stating you trained them. Inspect completed containers and if deemed acceptable place the green ok to ship tag on the container. If found to be unacceptable follow the control of non-conforming material procedure. The GP12 area each day will be treated like a new first pc. The job book and Icharts should be posted at each station running. At the end of the shift the scrap must be reviewed and charted on the scrap tally report and any parts reported must be left to be reviewed by the QE or Quality Manager. Parts should be left in the quality office tagged appropriately and an email sent out to notify the team of the failures. Help to assure that the operators leave the GP12 area clean and organize and that all job books are put away once task is complete on each shift.

Maintains information systems. Completes accurate records (on paper and electronic data) in order to provide excellent results. Also completes accurate records for continuous improvement. Completes records neatly with a goal for 100% accuracy of content.

Assist quality and engineering in investigations of process related quality issues.

Provide samples and communication to QA and Management concerning quality issues when required.

Monitors work cell gages for proper working condition and calibration.

Update the Quality Manager, Shift Supervisor and the appropriate personnel on quality concerns. Stop operations that are out of process, supporting the quality requirements.

Shall review & make disposition or all non-conforming products in their respective areas then submit a TSM scrap tally report at the end of each shift. Place parts in NCM & record in NCM system.

Assist in duties when deem necessary or requested by Quality Manager, Plant Supervisor, and Shift Supervisor.

Individual must be able to work independently with minimal guidance required. This implies good management, planning/organization, and decision-making skills.

Individual must be able to work well in teams and with others from diverse organizational functions and backgrounds as both a leader and an individual contributor.

This position requires strong communication skill and the ability to interface with individuals at all levels and functions of the business.

Quality Inspectors will perform their jobs observing proper safety, housekeeping and work cell organization in areas that pertain to the job function.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES (This job has no supervisory responsibilities.)

QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High school degree or equivalent and two to three years of experience in machining / metal

Removing manufacturing environment or equivalent combination of education and experience;

Demonstrated performance in the following areas: efficiency, scrap, suggestion program.

Must participate in company meetings have the ability to comprehend and follow all instructions and procedures and have the willingness to take on additional duties. Ability to use variable and attribute gages properly and accurately.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Able to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence and forms in English. Able to effectively

Information to supervision or management verbally or through written correspondence.

MATHEMATICAL / COMPUTER SKILLS
