Roles and Responsibilities
Participate in the sourcing process, selection, and evaluation of new potential suppliers and work closely with TSM purchasing.
Work closely with suppliers regarding new launch PPAP and CSR requirements.
Responsible for supplier APQP and PPAP process approvals (including annual validation)
Review suppliers’ manufacturing processes and quality systems (supplier audits performed as required).
Assure product is within drawing tolerances, engineering specifications and quality requirements.
Function as liaison between quality and purchasing to resolve quality and technical issues.
Monitor supplier performance, make improvements and recommendations as needed. Implement supplier development for troubled suppliers.
Maintain required documentation and files (ISO / IATF certs, CQI requirements).
Identify part critical characteristics from product design and/or learned lessons and deploy to the supplier the required process controls.
Review manufacturing fixtures concept to assure alignment to the GD&T part design.
Work with supply base on Cost Recovery and reports.
Application of Controlled Shipping (CS-I and CS-II) procedures as required.
Work with suppliers on corrective action process and define Root Cause along with problem solving techniques.
Supplier monitoring and inputs for supplier score cards.
Desired Experience
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in supplier management.
Experience managing a supply base for PPAP and Corrective actions.
Experience in approving and developing new suppliers.
Training / Experience in supplier auditing.
Experience in the automotive market.
Ability to approve AIAG PPAP’s with solid knowledge of the requirements.
Tire 1 customer experience.
Highly proficient in print reading and GD&T interpretation.
Demonstrated expertise in investigating complex quality problems and applying sound technical problem-solving skills (as example; 8D’s, root cause analysis.
