Position Overview:
Under general supervision of the Education Programs Supervisor, a TTEC Camp Counselor is a Full-Time, Non-Exempt, Seasonal position responsible for creating an engaging camp experience for children at TTEC Passion Camp this summer. We are seeking enthusiastic, creative, and organized camp counselors to join our camp team and create the best day ever for every one of our campers!
Camp Counselors are key role in teaching, coordinating, and carrying out daily indoor and outdoor activities. Camp Counselors work together to lead age-appropriate, play-based experiences that promote learning and growth while maintaining a safe, friendly, and professional atmosphere. Our ideal camp counselor is upbeat, energetic, motivated, and responsible. At the end of the day, we are looking for team members who can give our campers a fun and safe experience.
Summer Camp Overview:
TTEC Passion Camp is a residential camp serving children ages 10-14 that runs for TWO weeks through the summer season from July 14 through July 26.
Mandatory Dates :
Onboarding & Orientation Date ( at LA office): May 17, 2024
Camp Training Dates (at LA office): June 14, 2024 or June 21, 2024 (choose one)
Camp Session Dates ( at Pepperdine University): July 13 – July 26, 2024
Camp Staff Meeting and Preparation (at Pepperdine University): July 1, 2024
Camp Wrap-Up: July 27, 2024
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Build relationships with campers, providing guidance, motivation, and support throughout the day to keep them engaged and active in camp activities.
· Assure campers are always properly supervised and follow safety policies and procedures. This includes becoming familiar with individual camper’s medical and behavioral needs to be able to guide them appropriately.
· Lead and participate in various activities, such as art, song and dance, games, and demonstrating and/or facilitating hands-on investigations and experiences.
· Be a role model to campers, staff, and families with a positive attitude and behavior, setting an example regarding camp procedures and practices.
· Manage and use time and organization skills to effectively support campers and deliver programming.
· Provide the Education Programs staff with prompt feedback and information so they can communicate with families and ensure a successful camp experience.
· Other duties as assigned

· Strong collaboration and teamwork skills.
· Experience leading and facilitating informal programming and/or games.
· Able to practice good judgment and decision-making.
Minimum Job Requirements:
· Must be 18 years or older.
· Previous experience working with children in a camp, or camp-like context, preferred.
· Must be able to pass a background check and proof of COVID-19 vaccinations.
· Must be available for 6–hour or 8-hour shift, Monday–Friday, between 9:00 am–5:00 pm.
· Must be available to work the entire camp season, including training and 1-day wrap-up day (see above for dates).
· Comfortable working around children and crowds and relating to guests in a safe, friendly, and professional manner.
· Be able to maintain a physically active role each day
· Comfort in acting appropriately to meet child safety policy, regulations, and emergency procedures.
· Must be physically able to respond to situations requiring first aid and assist campers in an emergency (fire, evacuation, illness, or injury).
· Exemplary verbal and written communication skills.
· Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently.
· Physically able to (with reasonable accommodation) reach, bend, crouch, twist, push and/or pull up to 40 lbs., and lift and/or carry up to 20 lbs.
