Job Title: Development Manager
Position Overview: Tu Nidito Children and Family Services is seeking a nimble and curious communicator, story teller and excellent writer to join our team. The Development Manager will play a key role in ensuring that our organization continues to provide quality services to those in need by spearheading fundraising efforts and communicating our mission and impact to our community.

About Tu Nidito: Tu Nidito is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization where children, teens, young adults and families find comfort, hope and support while they are grieving the diagnosis of a serious medical condition or the death of a loved one. Tu Nidito’s mission is to create a community of acceptance and understanding for those grieving a serious medical condition or death. Our vision is no child grieves alone. Our Guiding Principles are: to provide meaningful experiences to our clients and community; to strengthen our community by providing support, resources and education in the field of childhood grief; to believe in providing our services with compassion, expertise, integrity and empathy to all grieving families. All programs are offered in English and Spanish, at no cost to children and families.
Responsibilities:
• Create a narrative to effectively communicate the spirit, mission and personality of Tu Nidito to the community.
• Support our comprehensive fundraising plan that aligns with Tu Nidito's strategic priorities and fundraising goals
• Write compelling grant proposals and manage the grant application process
• Plan and execute fundraising events and campaigns, including donor stewardship activities
• Collaborate with the Tu Nidito team to create communications and marketing materials that effectively communicate our mission and impact to stakeholders
• Manage organization's website, social media channels, and email marketing campaigns
• Develop and maintain relationships with local and national media outlets to secure media coverage of Tu Nidito's programs and events
• Track and report on fundraising and communication metrics to assess the effectiveness of our efforts
• Work efficiently with a proactive mind-set in responding to needs or internal and external stakeholders.
• Become the subject matter expert in data management of donors and volunteers.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in E:nglish, creative writing or communications
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in nonprofit fundraising and communications, with a track record of success with individuals,
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to write compelling grant proposals and create effective marketing materials
• Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
• Experience using fundraising software, donor databases, and content management systems
• Understanding of nonprofit accounting and financial management principles
• Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team of staff, volunteers, and board members
• Passion for Tu Nidito's mission and commitment to supporting children and families facing serious illness or the death of a loved one

Employee and Agency Stewardship
• Participate in an annual self-evaluation for performance review including creation of measurable personal and agency goals.
• Attend all staff meetings or other events where staff presence is important to goals of activity. Lead by example by attending outside meetings or events.
• Take an active role in promoting and perpetuating the values and principles of the agency internally and externally.
• Participate in the agency’s strategic planning process.
