Tubman is seeking a part time (30 hours) Legal Services Coordinator to provide administrative and program support for Tubman’s Attorney Services Team, including the Safety Project (Protection Orders) and Family Law Programs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with processing referrals, screening and assessing cases, and providing case management as a client receives legal services
  • Work with staff, contract, and volunteer attorneys to provide support and coordination of legal services
  • Update and maintain various administrative responsibilities, including forms, policies and procedures, as well as data entry and quality assurance
  • Participate in the recruitment, training, and supervision of legal volunteers and interns

Minimum Qualifications

  • 2 years experience OR degree in human services and/or legal services.
  • Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion with demonstrated experience working with people from diverse backgrounds.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good understanding of teamwork and multi-disciplinary work and how to apply that to a broader agency
  • Strong organization, communication, and computer skills.
  • Skilled in the areas of time management and attention to detail

Preferred Candidate

  • Experience working in a non-profit agency and/or law office
  • Experience working with people who have experienced violence or trauma, and ability to effectively communicate with people in crisis
  • Experience working with volunteers and interns
  • Ability to communicate orally and in writing in more than one language

Reports to Legal Services Manager

Location: This position is hybrid between remote work/Tubman Chrysalis in Minneapolis, with some time that will be spent at Harriet Tubman Center East in Maplewood.

Compensation & Benefits

The starting salary for the position is $23.50/hour annual salary dependent upon experience. This position is 30 hours/week.
