It is a supporting organization for Tulsa Community Foundation (TCF). Essential DutiesThe responsibilities of the GKFF Controller include, but are not limited to, the following: Financial Reporting
Responsible for all aspects of financial reporting for nonprofit foundation with approximately $5 billion Assets Under Management (AUM) in coordination with financial accounting manager
Frequency – monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting, depending on specific needs of management, board and third parties
Manage relationship with external audit engagement teams and ensure audits are completed timely based on internal and external deadlines
Support external tax compliance teams (KFOC) with information requests and data analysis, including responses to tax audits and assisting in UBI analysis
Collaborate with Director of Business Analytics to monitor budget-to-actual performance and prepare enterprise level financial analyses
Coordinate information flow, bookkeeping, tax, and audit work for multiple program operations, including separate legal entities, real estate projects, and others; including compliance or regulatory reporting for various entities and tax credit projects
Support GKFF investment team in creating portfolio performance reports, coordinate approvals of capital commitments and capital calls, and Mark-to-Market accounting for investment portfolio assets.
Accounting Operations
Manage growing accounting team and ensure adherence to or development of strong internal controls
Oversee bookkeeping, payment processing, and financial reporting for GKFF’s various operating segments and wholly-owned subsidiary entities
Communicate operational and financial information between program teams, accounting staff, management, and external service providers
Play a central role in the implementation of a new accounting system scheduled for a January 2025 go-live
Research and coordinate with HR on payroll, independent contractors, 401K, and unique HR related accounting issues
Regularly partner with the Tulsa Community Foundation (TCF) accounting and program team to ensure successful outcomes
Regularly support needs from other divisions within GKFF organization

Risk Management and Process Improvement
Design, implement, and monitor internal controls, processes, and guidelines for GKFF and GKFF’s operating segments and wholly-owned subsidiary entities
Collaborate with grantmaking, program services, investment, management, and administrative teams to improve processes and serve the needs of the Organization
Organizational Development
Supervise the work and contribute to the professional development of multiple direct reports and other team members
Promote a culture of compliance, transparency, and timely communication in a quickly growing, entrepreneurial organization
RequirementsRequirements & Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree with a major in Accounting or Finance or related, or equivalent experience
CPA
Minimum of 5 years developing and successfully managing an accounting team
Understanding of U.S. GAAP
Experience working with non-profit organizations, investment services, or family offices preferred
Experience in accounting for revenue (including non-profit revenue), inventory, and cost of goods sold preferred
Public accounting, auditing, or tax compliance experience is a plus
Experience in Federal and State government grant compliance reporting is a plus

Hours and Location
Primary location will be at the 7030 S. Yale Ave. offices
A typical work week is Monday – Friday from 8:00am – 5:00pm
Hybrid work model – May have the ability to work remotely 1 – 2 days per week. Will need to be available to work from the office as directed. It is anticipated that the Controller will need to primarily work in the office for the first 6-12 months as the team is built out and the new system is being implemented.
Ability to work weekends, evenings, and non-traditional hours on occasion.
