Tulsa Inspection Resources is Hiring a Remote Construction Specialist (San Carlos, CA Area)

GENERAL SUMMARY

Rely on extensive expertise, knowledge, and technical qualifications to interpret written industry and customer standards, specifications, regulations, and site restrictions and apply to both steel and plastic pipe and facility design and construction. Recommend or initiate direct actions required to meet and comply with all requirements. Identify issues related to the progress and quality of work performed by others and make decisions and recommendations required to satisfactorily address situations that involve staff of customers, contractors, and company employees both on and off the right-of-way.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Accountable for the following all construction related costs, scheduling, measuring and control.
  • Direct all quality control through the Chief Inspector or as directed by Project Manager.
  • Coordinate construction schedule and activities between client company and contractor.
  • Use expert level experience to provide design and construction consultation and assistance to management staff as required.
  • Plan, develop and implement project assignments.
  • Integrate activities of staff utilizing their experience as required by changing technology.
  • Maintain costs, control scheduling and execution of staff accordingly.
  • Assure adherence to all specifications, codes, and safety requirements.
  • Responsible for the total project from “kick off” to “startup”.
  • Provide project status reports to field service management and company.
  • Verify documentation is complete and in accordance with PHMSA and/or client requirements.
  • Manage field administration.
  • Construction reporting and communications
  • Construction coordination between client company and contractor
  • Identify and recommend solutions to environmental impacts.
  • Adhere to and enforce safety policies.
  • May assist with start-up of the constructed pipelines and facilities.
  • Candidates local to California preferred.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • Minimum 5 years design and construction management experience in the pipeline or construction industry.
  • Labor force experience in construction of pipelines and related facilities.
  • Field experience in all phases of quality control.
  • Knowledgeable with all aspects of DOT regulations, API standards and other project requirements.
  • Ability to plan/direct all levels of activities of the construction management staff.
