Tunnel To Towers Foundation is Hiring a Construction Manager Near Staten Island, NY

The mission of the Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation is to honor the sacrifice of firefighter Stephen Siller who laid down his life to save others on September 11, 2001. We also honor our military and first responders who continue to make the supreme sacrifice of life and limb for our country.

Construction Managers are responsibile for ensuringthat the Foundation's home projects are built in compliance with all state and local codes and regulations and address the unique needs of each family and catastrophically injured service member in order to improve their quality of life and restore their independence.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Responsible for oversight of all aspects of each home construction.
  • Ensures that construction is carried out according to the Program’s construction approved process.
  • Responsible for ensuring construction projects are completed within the scheduled time frame.
  • Supervise Project Supervisors.
  • Serve as point of contact for Project Supervisors and outside contractors.
  • Reviews weekly and monthly reports from Project Supervisor and outside contractors.
  • Ensure that all purchase orders are created and submitted properly for all In-Kind materials.
  • Ensure that all change orders are submitted accurately and timely.
  • Collect all lien releases from Project Supervisors.
  • Assist Senior Director in locating potential builders.
  • Provide all plans and project documentation for Project Supervisor and outside contractors.
  • Ensure that Project Supervisors and outside contractors are visiting sites as scheduled.
  • All communication with manufacturer supplying in-kind as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years of construction experience.
  • Strong leadership and management skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural plans.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Detail orientated.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to multitask multiple projects and supervise personnel.

Working conditions:

Special working conditions may include: a change in days worked, shift hours, and/or working conditions (outdoors or other locations) when participating and assisting in special events such as: NYC Tunnel to Towers Run, golf outings, and other fundraising events, as required.
