Job Summary
The Information Technology Administrator is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of our IT systems, including network administration, systems maintenance, user support, and cybersecurity. This role involves troubleshooting technical issues, implementing IT policies and procedures, and ensuring the security and reliability of our IT environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Systems Administration:
- Install, configure, and maintain hardware and software systems, including servers, workstations, and networking devices.
- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and perform regular maintenance tasks to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
- User Support:
- Provide technical support and assistance to end-users, including troubleshooting hardware and software issues, resolving technical problems, and answering IT-related questions.
- Assist with onboarding new employees and providing training on IT systems and applications.
- Network Administration:
- Manage network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.
- Monitor network performance, identify potential security threats, and implement measures to protect against unauthorized access and data breaches.
- Cybersecurity:
- Implement and maintain cybersecurity measures to protect against viruses, malware, and other security threats.
- Conduct security audits, vulnerability assessments, and penetration testing to identify and address security vulnerabilities.
- Documentation and Compliance:
- Maintain accurate documentation of IT systems, configurations, and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, standards, and best practices for IT security and data privacy.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field preferred.
- Experience in IT administration, systems administration, or related roles.
- Strong technical skills and knowledge of IT systems, networks, and cybersecurity principles.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Certifications such as CompTIA A , Network , or Security are a plus.
- Experience with cloud computing platforms and virtualization technologies.
- Knowledge of ITIL principles and practices for IT service management.
Working Conditions
- Works in office area(s), warehouse, pharmacy, and some positions work in a long-term care environment (i.e. nursing home, drug rooms, nurses’ stations, resident rooms, etc.).
- Moves intermittently during working hours.
- Is subject to frequent interruptions.
- Is involved with customers, and customer representatives, family members, residents, personnel, visitors, government agencies/personnel, etc., under all conditions and circumstances.
- Is subject to hostile and emotionally upset residents, family members, personnel, and visitors.
- Communicate with the designated facility staff, nursing personnel, residents, or family members.
- Works beyond normal working hours and on weekends and holidays when necessary.
- Is subject to call back during emergency conditions (e.g., severe weather, evacuation, post-disaster, etc.).
- Is involved in community/civic health matters/projects as appropriate.
- Attends and participates in continuing educational programs.
- Is subject to injury from falls, burns from equipment, odors, etc., throughout the workday, as well as reactions from dust, disinfectants, tobacco smoke, and other air contaminants.
- Is subject to exposure to infectious waste, diseases, conditions, etc., including TB and the AIDS, COVID-19, and Hepatitis B viruses.
- May be subject to the handling of and exposure to hazardous chemicals.
Education
Must possess and maintain any and all necessary active and unencumbered certifications, degrees, or licenses in the necessary state, to the extent the position requires such certifications, degrees, or licenses.
