The Direct Store Delivery (DSD) Supervisor is responsible for leading daily operations of the Direct Store Delivery business unit.

The DSD Supervisor makes an impact by:

• Responsible for the leadership and direction of their assigned DSD team, including staffing, scheduling, payroll, job reviews, discipline, and other employee requirements.
• Responsible, along with other members of the Distribution team, to develop, reconfigure and combine delivery routes to improve efficiency and quality of delivery process.
• Responsible for reporting on respective department metrics in the areas of efficiency, quality, and saving objectives.
• Support and be a resource for other Company departments, including Yard Services, Fleet Services, DSD Sales, Customer Service, and other internal and external customers.
• Ensure and verify that all drivers’ work is completed on a timely basis and that all trip reports, logs, service records and work time are properly maintained, reported, and follow all requirements.
• Work with Fleet Safety & Compliance to ensure that all procedures and processes follow the Federal, State, and local, DOT and other regulations for the trucking and distribution industry.
• Responsible for managing the department’s expenditures, including labor, supplies, travel expenses, and other financial requirements.
• Perform all duties in compliance with all corporate and regulatory quality, GLP, and safety regulations.
• Perform all duties within established Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and FSMA guidelines as well as all safety regulations.
• Support the development, implementation, maintenance, and ongoing improvement of the Safe Quality Foods (SQF) Food Safety and Quality.
• Demonstrates the ability to engage work in department and cross-functional teams to define and implement process improvements that provide value to the customer.
• Be accountable to the Turkey Hill Food Safety and Quality Principles.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Minimum of three (3) years of experience in the transportation, trucking or related fields.
• Previous experience in a training, fleet safety or leadership position preferred.
• Commercial Driver’s license (CDL) preferred
• Valid and updated Medical card preferred.
• Strong communication skills (written and oral)
• Strong analytic and computer skills
• Be accountable to the Turkey Hill Food Safety and Quality Principles
• Performs all duties within the established Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) regulations.
• Follow established programs, policies and practices to produce safe quality foods that meet regulatory and company requirements.
• Support the development, implementation, maintenance, and ongoing improvement of Safe Quality Foods (SQF) Food Safety and Quality.
• Perform all other duties as assigned

Physical Demands:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.

• The employee is required to talk and/or hear in an office setting (noise level is low) and manufacturing setting where noise levels can be high (PPE required).
• The employee is frequently required to stand and walk in an office or manufacturing environment from 4-8 hours.
• The employee must be able to ascend and descend stairs, and where applicable and when necessary, to perform various job-related tasks
• Must be able to position self to move, reach with arms/hands, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl as needed to perform various job-related tasks
• The employee must be able to inspect all job-related equipment (office or floor) to ensure it is in good working condition prior to use. Must be able to use hands/fingers to handle (or feel) to operate various types of office equipment.
• Must be able to operate all job-related equipment (powered, hand or office) as required
• Vision requirements: close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception and adjust focus
• Ability to lift 20 pounds and/or push/pull 20 pounds on a regular or occasional basis
