About the Job
Turner Business Appraisers is expanding, and we need a Personal Property Tax Auditor to perform business equipment field audits for North Carolina County governments. The auditor will discover business personal property and perform physical inspection to ensure the accurate and lawful valuation and collection of tax revenue within the tax jurisdiction.
Requirements include:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related Discipline
- CPA or at least 4 years general accounting experience
- Flexibility regarding travel
- Proficiency in Word and Excel
- Ability to create written reports and presentations
- Property tax experience strongly preferred
Primary Responsibilities:
- Conduct business personal property tax audits for County governments in North Carolina
- Research, gather, and analyze data to determine whether a business is accurately filing their business personal property list
- Conduct site visits of various businesses
- Create written reports of findings

We are seeking someone with the ability to manage the large and small tasks that come with our small but growing office. Our ideal candidate will have excellent customer service, proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, etc. You should possess exceptional written and verbal communication skills and be able to work on diverse types of assignments under a deadline at the same time. Preferred candidate will have at least a bachelor’s degree.
