Position Description:Administer U.S. immigration program and assist with end-to-end immigration procedures to ensure lawful work authorizations. Guide and advise business partners on immigration matters in support of decision making. Promote a positive, seamless employee experience representative of Turner’s culture and values through proactive management of immigration actions.

Essential Duties & Key Responsibilities:

  • Respond to and administer high volume of U.S. immigration queries from Human Resources (HR) partners, managers, employees, and internal recruiters, and provide counseling on immigration requirements.
  • Support completion and timely submission of required information, including preparing petitions/applications for various immigration and nonimmigration visas .Prepare individuals for interviews with immigration officials and initiate permanent residence cases.
  • Monitor immigration status of sponsored employees and provide guidance to affected stakeholders, explain information while maintaining confidentiality with sensitive data.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key business clients and HR teams to enable timely and consistent execution of immigration-related tasks.
  • Educate HR and business unit (BU) leadership on immigration-related matters, foster a well-informed, trusting environment where employees can openly engage on immigration needs and concerns.
  • Proactively manage and escalate risks impacting employees’ immigration status to BU stakeholders.
  • Coordinate and lead communications with in-house stakeholders and experts, and external immigration and legal advisors to resolve complex immigration matters.
  • Recommend alternatives to BU leaders for employees whose visa applications are not approved and/or renewals and extensions are approaching maximum duration.
  • Design, develop, establish and maintain immigration program standards based on great immigration practices, policies, processes, and operat2ing procedures aligned with company goals and objectives.
  • Contribute to improving and maintaining immigration-related resources and deliver ongoing stakeholder education in self-service format.
  • Closely monitor changes in immigration regulations, assess program impacts for full compliance with immigration laws, and provide timely communication of updates to stakeholders.
  • Apply basic lean concepts and practices to continuously assess work to enhance programs and reduce waste for overall effectiveness; generate, analyze, and interpret various metrics against benchmarks; contribute ideas to improve efficiencies, leverage HR shared services and outsourced partners for transactional activity; and provide communications to affected stakeholders and implement approved changes.
  •  Track and review vendor invoices related to U.S. immigration activities to document cost allocations and develop timely payments processes.
  •  Other activities, duties, and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from accredited program in Human Resources or related field, and minimum of 3 years of experience with US immigration in both nonimmigration visas (NIV) (e.g., H-1B, Blanket L-1, F-1 OPT), immigration visas (IV) (e.g., PERM, I-140), and related matters, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
  • Immigration-related certification, Professional in Human Resources® (HRCI PHR®) or Society of Human Resources Management Certified Professional (SHRM CP®) certification preferred
  • Construction or construction-related industries, and/or experience in large size (10,000 employees) organization preferred
  • Professional verbal and written business communications with effective active listening skills
  • Strong interpersonal and stakeholder relationship management skills, with ability to work cross-collaboratively across multiple internal and external teams
  • Strong project management, organizational, time management, prioritization, and follow-up practices.
  • Experience with developing policy, training, and communications
  • Highly developed intercultural awareness and sensitivity
  • High degree of integrity, adept at handling sensitive and confidential data and able to exercise discretion
  • Solid solution and data-oriented approach to problem-solving using analytical skills
  • Experience applying basic continuous improvement principles, means, methods, and tools
  • Knowledge of Human Resources policies, operations, and processes
  • Proficient computer skills and with Microsoft Office suite of applications including advanced MS Excel skills; skilled in database software, Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) (SAP preferred), and other HR related applications
  • Able to work independently with little or no supervision

The salary for this position in NYC is estimated to be $95,000 - $115,000 annualized.

The noise in the work environment is usually moderate to loud. The employee is required to work in compliance with company safety policies, procedures, and applicable laws.
