Turner Industries Group is hiring a Safety Technician for Maintenance work in the Pass Christian, MS area. The Safety Technician assists in the administration and overall supervision of project safety and accident and fire protection programs to maintain a safe and healthy work environment.

• Day shift: 6:30 AM to 5:00 PM

Functional Requirements:
Conducts regular walk-through inspections of construction areas, Identifies, documents and recommends resolutions of hazardous or potentially hazardous conditions and follows through to ensure that corrections have been made, Documents and investigates all accidents, safety violations and other unsafe conditions or activities, Compiles data, photographs, etc. and prepares all pertinent forms and reports according to corporate procedures and federal, state and local regulations associated with accidents, Issues various entry permits (i.e. to confined spaces) as required; assists in emergency rescues as required, Assists in maintaining fire protection and grounding systems, Assists in controlling hazardous working conditions and unsafe employee activities through interfacing with training programs, Perform additional assignments per supervisor's direction
Qualification Standards:

• Technical training and/or industrial related safety experience
• Post-offer drug/alcohol screen and physical evaluation
• Job site safety requirements (clean shaven, long sleeves, steel toe boots, etc.)
• Safety equipment as required by the client (hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, respirator, hearing protection, safety harness with lanyard, etc.)
• Applicant/employee must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of others at the workplace

Physical Involvement:
May be required to do the following: climbing ladders, scaffolds, structures, etc. above and below ground level; maintaining balance on ladders, scaffolds, structures, etc.; reaching in all directions; handling and manipulating objects and materials; coordinating the movements of eyes, hands and fingers to operate tools and equipment; lifting 30 to 50 pounds from ground level, waist level, and/or overhead; carrying objects, tools, equipment, etc.; standing / sitting; walking; pushing; pulling; bending; kneeling; crouching/squatting; seeing with or without correction; hearing with or without correction; wearing respirator and other PPE; stepstool use; work in excessive heat; work in excessive cold; work in loud environment

• Location: industrial maintenance and construction sites and/or office environment
• Mobility Barriers to Access Job Site: uneven ground level; obstructed pathways; work performed at low and/or high elevations; work performed in confined areas
• Climatic/Environmental Conditions at Job Site: predominantly outdoor climate; may be exposed to extreme hot or cold weather, excessive humidity, rain, etc.; various noise levels caused by tools, machinery, equipment, etc.; potential exposure to chemical substances
