The Production Graphic Designer assists in developing standards for creative design and branding; and acts as the first review of all designs to ensure commitment to these standards. What does a Production Graphic Designer do?

  • The Production Graphic Designer assists in developing standards for creative design and branding; and acts as the first review of all designs to ensure commitment to these standards.
  • They will work directly with the marketing team to plan and produce signage for multiple enterprises utilizing large format printers, laminators and other output devices
  • Continually demonstrates creativity and personal responsibility for the production of in-house advertising materials within deadlines set by business needs, often requiring a flexible schedule.
  • Prepares substrates for production, which includes measuring and cutting materials to exact job specifications.
  • Inspect jobs for accuracy before sending them to the plotter or printer. Ensure correct material is used for each job and output devise settings are accurate. Minimize waste by efficiently using ink, media and laminates.
  • Works on different projects simultaneously.
  • Takes personal responsibility for ordering supplies and materials for the Marketing Production Room and ensures the room is kept clean and orderly.
  • Performs preventative maintenance on large format printers.
  • Assists in signage installations when needed.
  • Is conscientious of schedules and turn-times required in order to meet and/or exceed deadlines.
  • Continually ensures files are archived and retrieved to the backup system.
  • Ensures all completed job folders are keep organized and filed.
  • Interacts with department and cross-enterprise co-workers in an exemplary and professional manner.
  • Exercises and demonstrates the highest possible quality standards across multiple enterprise brands.
  • Follows-up on all jobs and/or orders with Requestors, Supervisor, Vendors and Project Management Team to ensure the highest level of quality control.

To be successful as a Production Graphic Designer, you'll need:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Communication, Design, Advertising, or related field is required. A combination of experience and education may be substituted.
  • Demonstrated experience with the creation of dimensional signage as well as the working knowledge of print production and pre-press procedures.
  • Proven strong knowledge of graphic layout and design.
  • Proficiency on PC and Mac based systems and software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign).
  • Working knowledge of Excel and Microsoft Word are required.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • To be able to work flexible hours including nights and weekends if required with minimal supervision.
  • To be prepared to work in a fast-paced environment where deadlines are critical.
