Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for an Information Technology Security Specialist located in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. The IT Support Technician will be responsible for providing technical support to students and staff, troubleshooting desktop computers, providing printer support, and repairing computers.

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent education or work experience with 3 years or Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent education or work experience with 2 years of prior relevant experience.
• Preferred Advanced certifications. 
• Preferred K12 networking and data systems.
• Must meet the suitability criteria for employment and/or certification/licensure under the Alabama Child Protection Act of 1999 and Act No. 2002-457.
• Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the board may find appropriate and acceptable.
• Job requires travel. Required to provide own vehicle and appropriate insurance and possess a valid driver’s license for travel between district locations.

• Advanced understanding of TCP/IP, common networking ports, and protocols.
• Possess hands-on experience analyzing network data.
