About Us

Internationally known, Sterling Vineyards is one of the most visited wineries in Napa Valley. Modeled after a Greek monastery, the winery sits 300 feet above the valley floor where visitors take an aerial tram to access the top-quality Bordeaux varietals and majestic 360-degree views of Napa Valley. Closed in September 2020 following the Glass Fire that affected much of the area, Sterling will be re-opening to guests in October 2023 complete with a new gondola system, re-imagined visitor spaces and a fresh take on Napa Valley hospitality.

About the role

The Culinary assistant will be involved with all aspects of the culinary program both on and off-site in tandem with the Culinary Lead as well as Culinary & Events AHSM. This includes ensuring quality food product and exceeding guest satisfaction. 

Key Areas of Responsibility & Accountability:

• Ensures proper receiving, inspecting and storing of all food orders
• Maintain consistent guest service standards
• Ensures all food production meets the TWE and Sterling culinary standards
• Partner with the Culinary Lead for the execution of events onsite as well as off-site at other properties
• Daily tastings to ensure food is meeting established standards
• Set an example of professionalism for all team members to follow
• Open and closing the kitchen daily, safely maintain property and room specific keys
• Adhere to all TWE Zero Harm and Health & Safety standards, and participate in all necessary training
• Work with onsite maintenance team to ensure all guest facing areas are well presented, including equipment, landscaping and building interior/exteriors
• Comply with all federal and state laws regarding food service 
• Complete projects and other duties as directed by Culinary Manager and DoH

Qualifications and Experience

• You have a minimum one-year culinary experience
• You have proven track record of operating in a fast paced and elevated culinary environment
• You are self-motivated, highly organized, and require minimal day-to-day direction
• You have strong written, verbal and organizational skills in English
• You are able to work flexible shifts, weekends and holidays.
• You must be able to travel on occasion to other Company locations.
• You must be able to lift 40 pounds. 
• You must be at least 21 years of age
• You must have a clean professional appearance and able to represent TWE internally and externally

Pay Transparency Disclosure: The base pay range offered for this position is $21 to $26 per hour. These figures represent what we reasonably expect to pay for this position, but the actual compensation offered will depend upon numerous job-related factors, including but not limited to candidate qualifications, skills, experience, education, location, and alignment with market data. Our expectation is that the incumbent will work out of the Calistoga CA area. If the incumbent works out of another location, the wage rate may fall above or below this range. Treasury reserves the right to modify the range in the future.
