Application Engineer (Circuit Breaker/Power Industry) Description

Our client in the circuit breaker and transformer industry is looking for an Application Engineer to add to their growing team just southwest of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. In this role, you will support pre-sale and post-sale engineering activities for circuit breaker projects, including troubleshooting technical issues, project quoting, preparation of submittal drawings, bill of materials creation, and serving as a technical liaison with customers. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of circuit breakers or transformers with proven experience managing multiple projects simultaneously. Application Engineer (Circuit Breaker/Power Industry) Responsibilities

• Play a pivotal role in pre-sale and post-sale engineering activities for circuit breaker projects

• Provide high-level technical guidance to project managers

• Review RFQs to assess feasibility and align with company capabilities

• Develop detailed cost estimates with sales and procurement teams

• Create and distribute 2D CAD drawings, including detailed technical diagrams and specs

• Develop and finalize project bill of materials

• Identify and document technical exceptions

• Oversee technical aspects of circuit breaker projects & serve as a key liaison with customers

• Collaborate with senior management on strategic planning

• Maintain detailed project documentation and reporting

• Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations

• Mentor and train junior engineers and team members

Application Engineer (Circuit Breaker/Power Industry) Qualifications

• 3 years of engineering experience within the power equipment industry is required

• A strong understanding of circuit breakers or transformers is required

• 2D drawing & CAD software experience is required

• Experience successfully managing multiple projects simultaneously is required

• Ability to work 100% on-site is required
